Frequently Asked Questions

What is CareerSparx?

CareerSparx is a 12-week online course designed to give recent college graduates the tools necessary to jump-start their careers. We begin by building a strong foundation – perfecting your resume and cover letter – and progress through all of the steps you need to find a job. You’ll learn tried-and-true success strategies, while leveraging new forms of technology and ways of thinking to put you ahead of your competition.

How does CareerSparx work?

After signing up, you’ll receive exclusive access to weekly lessons that guide you through each step of the job search process. Each lesson includes multiple articles, video interviews and presentations, resume templates and other downloadable job search tools. We will release a new lesson each week that will focus on the next part of the job search you should tackle.

There is also a weekly dial-in call for participants who’d like closer interaction with the instructors, as well as an online Forum where participants and instructors interact.

By the end of the course, you will have progressed through the various steps needed to find a job, and will feel confident in your ability to convey your credentials to get started in the professional world.

Who should enroll in the CareerSparx course?

Ideal CareerSparx candidates are recent college graduates who have been unsuccessful in starting or just don’t know how to start their careers. Whether you’re fresh out of college or a few years out, this course will give you the tools and confidence you need to begin the next phase of your life.

How do I sign up?

Enrollment will happen on this site. Sign up for our e-mail updates, and we’ll keep you posted as we get closer to launch. Enrollment is limited for our first launch, but our course will re-open in the future.

Is the course applicable to all college graduates, or only to certain disciplines?

The course is applicable to all college graduates seeking to enter the professional world. We focus on the universal aspects that are important to finding a job, no matter what you studied.

I need help figuring out what field I should go into after I graduate. Can CareerSparx help?

If you are unsure about exactly what you want to do, that’s okay. Taking the course will help you figure out how to apply your talents to a career. Along the way we will teach you how to gain exposure in the professional world, help you begin to hone in on what makes you happy and help you discover the type of work environment that you will thrive in. The knowledge gained from our lessons will put you in a position to meet professionals and expand your network as you gain a better idea of where you belong.

But, just to be clear, CareerSparx’s primary purpose is to help you start a career and find that important first job. We don’t make the connections for you, we teach you how to do it yourself.

If I do not have a college degree, will this course help me?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. This course is tailored toward college graduates.

When does the course begin? How long is it?

The course will begin in June. It is a 12-week course that delivers new lessons and content each week. Even once the course ends, you will have lifetime access to all the learning materials (and future materials) as well as the Forum.

How much does it cost?

The regular price for a monthly membership is $79, but because you are part of our inaugural class, we’re offering the course to you at a discount of only $19 a month. In addition, we have a 60-day money back guarantee. There is no risk on your part. The burden to deliver is entirely on us. The last thing we want is for you to spend money and not be completely satisfied with the resources and community!

What are the highlights of the course?

There is a ton of content available to our students. Articles, videos, custom feedback on resumes and cover letters, live calls, webinars – you name it! But what matters the most is that this content comes from industry professionals, not career counselors. These are people who took this journey themselves. Successfully. And have the careers to show for it.

Who are the instructors?

All of our instructors are industry professionals who will share their experiences and knowledge about starting your career. The lead instructor (and gentleman who had the idea for this course) is Mario Schulzke. He is a senior director at WONGDOODY and the founder of the popular interview site IdeaMensch. Mario is originally from Germany, sits on the board of advisors at the University of Montana School of Business Administration and wrote and taught an online course at the Academy of Art University in San Francsico.

What if I need one-on-one personal help?

Our instructors are available to all students via the Forum and weekly phone call, as well as via e-mail. While this isn’t a one-on-one consulting arrangement, we want to do what it takes for our students to find the course valuable.

Will you sell my e-mail address to third-party vendors or partners?

Absolutely not. All e-mails that you receive will come directly from us. That being said, we might pass along special CareerSparx offers (and by special offers, we mean screaming deals) that are available to our subscribers.

Do you or will you have any products for mid-career people?

Not yet. Although there certainly is a need (especially with the seemingly steady stream of talented people on the market), that’s not what CareerSparx is about. We are solely focused on providing world-class advice for recent graduates.

Will this course help with making career transitions?

If you’re talking about transitioning from working at Starbucks to getting into a job that you attended college for, then yes.

Does completing the course guarantee I will get a job?

No. (If we did, we’d be charging a whole lot more.) You will have the tools to start your career, but ultimately, it’s up to you to bring it to life.

What if I am not satisfied? Are there any money-back guarantees?

Absolutely. If you are not satisfied within 60 days, we offer a full refund. No questions asked.
